UK Brand Campaign Series

Showcasing the power of Canva

As Canva's UK creative agency, one of our first briefs was to help drive brand awareness through a more consistent and impactful presence.

We needed to create work that not only highlights Canva's powerful tools but also resonates with a UK audience, cutting through the noise in high-impact locations.

In one campaign, we took over all 14 billboards at London’s Waterloo gallery, transforming the space into a live demonstration of Canva’s design capabilities. It’s a bold, tongue-in-cheek celebration of how Canva empowers anyone to design with ease, creativity, and impact.

'Make the Logo Bigger' takes the classic client request and blows it out of proportion.

'Turns out the 16×9 was meant to be 9×16' spotlights reformatting woes by promoting Canva’s magic resize tool.

'Background Remover' reveals the brick wall behind the billboard frame.

'drag and drop almost anything' has a Forest e-bike dragged onto a billboard, physically showcasing Canva’s drag-and-drop functionality in the real world.

Ideas for a Canva Whiteboard is a special build styled like a whiteboard brainstorm, with notes and comments referencing other Canva billboards around Waterloo.

The Waterloo takeover followed a broader OOH campaign launched to coincide with SXSW London.

This phase featured bold, graphic creative aimed at capturing the attention of tech-savvy commuters, including a striking display at Old Street Canvas where a giant Canva-themed installation was animated with hundreds of collaborative cursors, highlighting the brand’s real-time design functionality.

OOH activity was supported with digital spots on YouTube and LinkedIn over the summer.

Each phase was the result of a close collaboration between Stink Studios and Canva’s in-house marketing team. Together, we developed a design language that flexes across formats—physical and digital—while staying true to Canva’s accessible, witty voice.
